Surigao Doctors College was formerly the Center for Healthcare Professions (CHP)-Surigao Branch. It opened in 2004, back then, it was a private training center franchisee. Its main campus was in CHP-San Pedro Laguna. It offered training programs related to medical and paramedical fields, and short and specific training courses that would conform to world-class standard and demands. All courses offered were TESDA-registered and accredited.

The CHP-Surigao Branch in the past, was composed of a team of qualified, knowledgeable experts particularly in the medical and paramedical fields, and highly qualified hotel & restaurant management professors, all were TESDA National Certificate holders of different qualifications and competencies.

The CHP-Surigao Branch, at present started its operation last May 2004, with its first training center address at 3F Elipe Building, Kaimo-Narciso Sts., Surigao City. It initially offered only the seven-month Professional Caregiver program and practical Nursing course. It had its pioneering students of only 28 students/trainee.

The CHP-Surigao Branch had gone a long way. It transferred to a new location, at the 3F City Arcade Building, Borromeo St., Surigao City and it offered other courses such as the 2-year Certificate in Hotel & Restaurant Management, and short-courses or programs which are TESDA registered, such as the Bartending NC II, Food & Beverage Services NC II, Commercial Cooking NC II, Housekeeping NC II, Front Office Services NC II, Household Services NC II, Healthcare Services NC II & Caregiving NC II.

In 2010, CHP-Surigao Branch through its incorporators realized that they have a social responsibility to the community. In order to deliver its commitment to provide quality education, it has offered OTHER relevant courses, to conform with global demands.

Now with its new name, was born SURIGAO DOCTOR’S COLLEGE.

Incorporated in 2012, under its new name SURIGAO DOCTOR’S COLLEGE, it is offering DEGREE courses, such as the BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, Major in Marketing Management; BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN HOTEL AND RESTAURANT MANAGEMENT, and BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY. In 2018 BSHRM was re-named to BACHELOR OF SCIENCE in Hospitality Management based from CHED’s CMO no 62 s2017.

SURIGAO DOCTOR’S COLLEGE aims to maintain its high standard quality education and training. Constant practice in skills training is emphasized as equally important as that of the theoretical knowledge, providing the students with a perfect setting for conducive learning, a foretaste of the real-working-condition, especially in the global scene

SURIGAO DOCTOR’S COLLEGE is a corporation owned by young and vibrant Professionals in different fields, all binded with a common goal. Presently, the school is headed by its school administrator, Ms. CHESNA BLYTHE C. YCONG.
